The Ice Man definitely cometh here, with Albert Collins bearing down on his humbucked, minor-key-tuned Fender Telecaster with nothin’ but the blues. I’m glad I got a chance to hear Albert live down on Lincoln Ave. in Chicago before he passed away in 1993. Every blues/rock guitarist worthy of the name knows Albert’s ‘sting bee’ style and has borrowed some of his technique, and he always put on a good show, even if his backing bands were occasionally uneven. Nothing uneven about this cut, though, as Collins brings it all back home.
