Don’t Forget to Move Your Money on Bank Transfer Day, Nov. 5th

Well, since the 5th is a Saturday, maybe you’ll want to move it before then. If you have accounts with Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Chase or any other big national bank, close them and move your money to a credit union or small local bank. Why? Here are some of the reasons, courtesy of MoveYourMoneyProject.org:

Why You Should Move Your Money?
— Invest in main street, not Wall Street
— End too big to fail
— Fewer fees, more savings
— Get more personal service
— Lend a hand to local businesses

At this site you can also get advice on how to find a new bank or credit union and other useful tips.

The ‘Too Big To Fail’ banks have to be cut down to size, and this is a step in the right direction toward achieving that goal.
